A3P Oregon | Many people think great leaders make history, that we are now merely waiting for some extraordinary patriot to unite our people and save our country. Over the last several decades our national problems have multiplied out of control, but no person or party has been able to turn the tide or stop its advance one bit. During this time, our people have had many intelligent and brave leaders fighting on our behalf, some them now directors of the American Third Position, but these great men have always lacked the support needed to bring about legitimate change or to at least create a strong and ardent opposition.
Twenty years ago most Americans would not have been able to say what the future holds for our country. Many were still optimistic about the radical nature of the establishment’s agenda. This is no longer the case, as the majority of Americans are now disillusioned by the broken promises and obvious policy failures of career “scammer-politicians” who take turns plundering our nation.
History is full of rising and falling establishments, which if looked at from the perspective of having lived under them, at the heights of their power, it would seem that their rule would never end and that these governments would go on forever. Each has fallen when ordinary people start to take an interest in politics, when regular folks with families and jobs say enough is enough, “we have to do something!”
Local A3P activists in southern Washington did just that on Monday, October 1st outside a post office in the Longview/Kelso area, situated along the Columbia River, the natural dividing line of the Oregon-Washington border. A sizable industrial town based primarily on the logging industry, Longview is home to a vibrant working class community, providing the perfect environment for party activists to discuss their concerns with people very much like themselves.
A first time out for nearly everyone in attendance, the overriding theme from every mouth was, “we have to do something!” This same message was echoed by passersby, making the jobs of party activists that much easier but also indicating a general climate, at least in this one area, of genuine popular resentment towards the status-quo and a very real desire to see serious political change occur.
While the activists reported that much of their time was essentially spent listening to their countrymen rail against the policies of our government, especially its foreign policy, they were able to offer a few solutions and to explain points of the party’s platform to those who seemed interested in finding a way out of this mess.
That is our job now, the job of the American Third Position, the job of its members and activists across the country: to show our countrymen that there is an alternative to the establishment, or even to the false, “opposition-light” third parties whose only purpose is to confuse further what is already a ridiculous theatrical side-show, namely our political process.
We are different. The A3P is the only party of its kind. We stand by our nation’s most precious resource, its people. Our platform was created with this thought in mind. Each A3P policy is geared toward putting Americans first.
Now let’s tell everyone!
