Former vice president and likely 2020 presidential candidate, Joe Biden, attacked the United States’ “white man’s culture,” during an appearance at the Biden Courage Awards, which honors those working to combat sexual assault on college campuses.
Biden said America’s racist culture is why Anita Hill wasn’t able to stop Clarence Thomas’ nomination to the Supreme Court.
“A really notable woman, Anita Hill, professor, showed the courage of a lifetime talking about her experience being harassed by Clarence Thomas,” Biden said at the New York City banquet. “We knew a lot less about the extent of harassment back then, over 30 years ago. But she paid a terrible price. She was abused through the hearing. She was taken advantage of. Her reputation was attacked.”
A leftward shift among urban prosecutors has become a race to the bottom. In Boston, Rachael Rollins campaigned on ending prosecutions for “minor” offenses, such as petty larceny. In Manhattan, Cy Vance promised to stop prosecuting marijuana possession and fare evasion. Chicago’s Kim Foxx, who recused herself from disgraced actor Jussie Smollett’s prosecution, has gone all-in on “restorative justice.” Philadelphia D.A. Larry Krasner wants to reduce sentences for even the most violent offenders, and in Baltimore, Marilyn Mosby’s commitment to marijuana decriminalization led her to decline to prosecute a man found with 16 pounds of pot in his car.
The nation was shocked on Tuesday after yet another shocking turn in the case surrounding Empire actor Jussie Smollett. In an unexpected move, the Cook County state’s attorney’s office in Chicago decided to drop the charges against Smollett. The actor was previously charged with 16 felony counts of filing a false police report after being accused of staging his own hate crime to further advance his career. Cook County’s state attorney Kimberly Foxx is now under fire for her role in the prosecution and the surprising decision made by her office on Tuesday, according to NBC News.
While Smollett was originally treated as a victim in this case, the tides later shifted when parts of the story he told the Chicago Police Department didn’t add up. Foxx opted to rescue herself from the messy case back in February, prior to Smollett officially being charged. The job was then handed to her deputy. Her reasoning for backing out was later explained by a representative from her office. They claimed the move “was made to address potential questions of impartiality based upon familiarity with potential witnesses in the case.”
A Chicago police union, the Fraternal Order of Police, was shocked and disappointed by the latest decision in the case. In a public statement shared with NBC, they condemned Foxx as a prosecutor and claimed that her office has an agenda that works against law enforcement. They are also calling for yet another investigation, this time into the precise role of Foxx in this particular case.
Christians in Nigeria witnessed another round of bloody attacks last week as Boko Haram terrorists captured the town of Michika in Nigeria’s far eastern state of Adamawa, burning buildings and exchanging fire with government troops.
According to an op-ed in the Washington Examiner by journalist Douglas Burton, the attack continued for hours with an unknown number of casualties, although initial reports mentioned: “scores killed.” Burton is a member of the advisory board for Save the Persecuted Christians (STPC), which advocates on behalf of more than 300 million persecuted Christians around the globe.
Father Peter John Wumbadi, head of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Michika. Wumbadi told Burton he “heard bomb blasts and lots of stray bullets,” which motivated him to pack six students from the parish school into his SUV and drive past burning buildings and crowds of panicked citizens who were running for cover.
PJ Media senior editor Tyler O’Neil joined Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Wednesday to discuss racism at the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Morris Dees, the group’s co-founder, was abruptly fired last week for failing to meet “the mission of the organization and the values we hope to instill in the world,” according to a statement from SPLC President Richard Cohen to The Daily Caller News Foundation.
Carlson noted Dees’ firing “under mysterious circumstances” [#MeToo rumors…] and the irony that a group that often falsely labels others as “racist, sexist bigots” would be accused of those things itself.
“This group has been rotten for years,” said Carlson. “Why are people just now noticing?”
“The story actually is really, really bad,” said O’Neil. “You had 13 black former employees of the SPLC interviewed. Twelve of them said they witnessed racist incidents in their time there and three of them called the organization a plantation for its black workers.”
Dees’ firing was first reported by the Montgomery Advertiser, which included a reference to its 1994 series on racism within the organization and the co-founder’s “near singular control over the organization and its mammoth budget.”
The series, a Pulitzer Prize finalist, revealed a figure seen as heroic by some and single-minded by others. Dees’ critics said he was more concerned with fundraising than litigating.
The series also alleged discriminatory treatment of black employees within the advocacy group, despite its outward efforts to improve the treatment of minorities in the country. Staffers at the time “accused Morris Dees, the center’s driving force, of being a racist and black employees have ‘felt threatened and banded together.’” The organization denied the accusations raised in the series.

A number of US officials visited South Africa at the request of President Donald Trump as part of an investigation into the country’s land expropriation process.
Trump raised eyebrows in 2018 after he tweeted that the South African government was ‘seizing land from white farmers’.
Trump asked his secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, to study the seizure and expropriation of land in South Africa, along with the killing of farmers.
According to the Rapport, the US delegation – including deputy secretary of state John J. Sullivan, and the US deputy ambassador to South Africa Jessye Lapenn – met with AgriSA, Grain SA, and ANC officials on Friday (15 March) to discuss how the land expropriation process may impact property rights in the country.
In the meeting, AgriSA highlighted the recently released list of land expropriation targets in the Northern Cape and warned that the ANC would bring about an “economic catastrophe” if it planned to expropriate farms that were an essential part of the South African economy.
The group also discussed the high rate of farm murders in the country, with AgriSA asking the US government to intervene to help prevent land grabs in the country.
Political leaders and public figures were falling over themselves this weekend to condemn the mosque attacks in New Zealand, while dozens of Christians were slaughtered by Muslims in Nigeria to the sound of crickets.
The mosque attacks were indeed a horrific affair and worthy of universal condemnation. Presidents, prime ministers, royalty, and religious leaders rushed to extend their condolences to victims and their families — as well they should — while decrying the hate that purportedly motivated the shootings.
Without exception, the mainstream media gave top billing to the shootings, with newspapers carrying the story on their front pages and television news channels leading off their broadcasts with the story.
The mosque in Christchurch, NZ sits on spacious grounds. Who paid for it?
By Carolyn Yeager
I don’t care and I don’t think very many Americans do care about what happened in Christchurch, New Zealand, but the disloyal Media are trying to force us to care, or at least to pay attention. But why should we?
We shouldn’t, because it’s unnatural for someone like me to care about what happens to fifty Arab-Asian Muslims who pushed their way into a white, English-speaking country against the desires of many of its citizens. It’s not like these Muslims were existing peacefully in their own homeland and some crazed white dude invaded their village and shot them dead.
A couple of days before this event, a new supersonic jetliner crashed after takeoff in Ethiopia, and all 157 human beings aboard were killed. Why is there a perpetrator to hate in one instance, and not in the other? And if someone is found to be responsible (most unlikely), will they be charged with murder?
