Harry Bertram: It’s time to wise up about the two major parties…

NOTE: This is one of a series of columns written by candidates for West Virginia governor in the Oct. 4 special election.

In 1968, George Wallace, then running as a “third” party presidential candidate, said that there “isn’t a dime’s worth of difference” between the Democrats and Republicans. Wallace’s words are as true today as ever.

The Two-Party System: Two sides of the same coin,

The Democrats and Republicans have been taking turns running government for far too long. Our state and our country keep going in the wrong direction, while the Democrats and Republicans point fingers at each other and claim they will turn things around if only they are given yet another chance.

People are utterly disgusted with both monopoly parties. The powers of incumbency are difficult to overcome, but even when an incumbent of one monopoly party is defeated, his replacement is almost always more of the same. This country’s political system is broken and corrupt, and as a result our country is bankrupt, both economically and morally.

Nothing can be changed until America’s closed political system is opened up.

On Oct. 4, West Virginians can strike a powerful blow on behalf of positive change by electing me as your next governor. I am the candidate of American Third Position (A3P), a brand new political party dedicated to the values that made West Virginia and America great.

A3P Party SealAmerican Third Position and I believe in ending outsourcing, which for decades has been destroying America’s industrial base by allowing many millions of jobs to be shipped to foreign countries. We believe in America First, which means doing what is best for our people and our state and country rather than doing the bidding of Big Business and favored foreign nations.

We believe in a moratorium on immigration and constructing a security fence along the Mexican border to end the Third World invasion of the U.S.

American Third Position and I oppose any infringements on the Second Amendment.

We believe in greatly reducing the size of the monstrosity in Washington, D.C., and ending this country’s unwanted global empire along with its endless wars abroad. We also reject the fast-growing police state that is enveloping our country since 9/11. We believe in individual freedom and responsibility. An all-powerful government is the exact opposite of the founding principles our ancestors fought and died for.

My party and I believe in a strengthened family unit as the norm for society, rejecting homosexuality, feminism and all other ideologies that are being promoted by the media and government to replace traditional values and morality.

We support individual workers, farmers and small and medium-sized business, in other words free enterprise. Today’s global crony capitalism favors giant corporations and works against laborers and small businesses.

I will apply these and other common sense, fair-minded principles in all matters affecting West Virginia if you elect me as your next governor. I am a working man and my only concern is what’s good and right for West Virginians. I am beholden to no special interests and never will be.

On Oct. 4, let the powers that be know you’ve wised up and have had enough. It’s time for real change instead of the endless two-party charade. Make your voice heard by electing me your next governor.

Harry Bertram, of Morgantown, is the American Third Position Party candidate for West Virginia governor.

Obama 2012 Campaign Focuses on Ethnic Minorities

How’s that for ethnopolitics? The majority population of white Americans have been thrown under the bus. There can be no doubt that the Democratic party is a pro-minority party.

Peter Wallsten of The Washington Post writes,

“President Obama’s campaign is developing an aggressive new program to expand support from ethnic minority groups and other traditional Democratic voters as his team studies an increasingly narrow path to victory in next year’s reelection effort.”

“Operation Vote will function as a large, centralized department in the Chicago campaign office for reaching ethnic, religious and other voter groups. It will coordinate recruitment of an ethnic volunteer base and push out targeted messages online and through the media to groups such as blacks, Hispanics, Jews, women, seniors, young people, gays and Asian Americans.”

Mark Smith of Yahoo News writes,

“In a fiery summons to an important voting bloc, President Barack Obama told blacks on Saturday to quit crying and complaining and “put on your marching shoes” to follow him into battle for jobs and opportunity. And though he didn’t say it directly, for a second term, too.”

In 2008, Obama managed to get as many as 95 percent of the African American vote. 77 percent of voters who voted for the first time opted for Obama. Obama hopes to repeat that in 2012. This month his campaign hired a longtime Jewish policital activist as a point-man for the Jewish vote.

White American voters are correct to feel alienated and displaced. Richard Spencer pointed out during the NPI Conference, “the Republican party is doomed unless it switches to a pro-majority strategy.” The American Third Position is the most promising political organization to represent the majority white American voter.

Kevin MacDonald wrote,

“The good news here is that it’s hard to believe that Whites won’t begin to identify as Whites and begin to act accordingly when they see that they can’t win elections any longer, even with very strong White majorities voting Republican.”

It is just a matter of time when Whites will see that the anti-White revolution won’t be televised.

The American Third Position Party believes that government policy in the United States discriminates against white Americans, the majority population, and that white Americans need their own political party to fight this discrimination.

The American Third Position endeavors to have candidates for political office in every state. Join us!

No License? Don’t Speak English? No Problem!

According to ImmigrationReform.com:

The Arizona/Massachusetts driving tests cause confusion and safety concerns.

Written Drivers TestMassachusetts recently identified hundreds of refugees who obtained Massachusetts driver’s licenses by converting from Arizona licenses. By taking advantage of Arizona’s lax language and testing requirements, non-English speakers were able to take driving tests with translators, or bypass state testing altogether by training and testing with private driving schools (circumventing the Department of Motor Vehicles). While Massachusetts offers the written exam in 26 languages, it does not allow the written tests to be taken with a translator as Arizona does.

It should be startling to English-speaking drivers to learn they are sharing the road with licensed drivers who cannot pass English language driving tests – and can even travel out of state to avoid them. Common sense would dictate that an understanding of English should be required to drive in the U.S. Shouldn’t licensed drivers be able to read road signs?

Inconsistent testing and residency requirements between states threaten public safety. Arizona, recently a trailblazer on state immigration enforcement, continues to allow non-state residents to obtain Arizona driver’s licenses. While the state requires proof of legal U.S. residency, loopholes allow non-Arizona residents to avoid their own state’s licensing requirements and open-up the system to potential fraud.

Meanwhile, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano postponed the deadline for full compliance with the REAL ID Act of 2005, which establishes uniform national standards for driver’s license issuance, to January 2013. REAL ID was passed in response to recommendations from the 9/11 Commission and requires states to revise licensing laws in order to make it virtually impossible for illegal aliens to obtain valid driver’s licenses or other government-issued identification.

New Mexico and Washington continue to protect illegal aliens at the cost of national security by allowing illegal aliens to acquire driver’s license and state IDs.

FACTS:

  • According to the Arizona MVD, 60% of applicants fail their drivers test! That’s why they’re now posting free test exams online.
  • Applicants for Arizona driver’s licenses fail the multiple-choice written test so often that the Motor Vehicle Division has decided to give them some help.
  • Free practice tests using real questions are now posted online. The theory is that if people see how badly they would do, they might be more inclined to read the “Arizona Driver License Manual” and learn about the rules of the road.
  • Now, only about four in 10 motor-vehicle applicants pass the written test.

Harry Bertram’s views on issues he faces as Governor…

The Dominion Post talked with American Third Position gubernatorial candidate Harry Bertram about his campaign and his views on issues he would face as governor. Here are his answers.

Marcellus Shale Laws

“We need more inspection and regulations. …I think it can be a win-win situation for the people of West Virginia,” with profits for the gas companies and mineral owners, and good jobs for the industry workers.

With proper environmental protections and surface owner protections, “there’s no reason why everybody can’t be a good neighbor and make money.”

He would lean toward until the 2012 session to work on a bill, instead of calling a special session. Then he would call upon the voters to call and write their legislators to pass a bill. “If they don’t do it, they’ll be turned out of office. There’s now excuse for this [three-year delay in getting regulation]. I really don’t understand it.”

Crime

Minor drug offenders shouldn’t go to jail. Alternative sentencing and rehabilitation suitable to the offense will help stop overcrowding.

Economic Diversity

“The only way you can bring in another pool of money is to bring in more jobs — what we call ‘American first policy,'” Bertram said. The other options are tapping into the Rainy Day Fund, which is limited, making cuts or raise taxes.

“There’s no magic bullet, there’s only one place to get the money — that’s from the people who are still working,” he said.

To lure in new business, the state will have to offer tax incentives and change its tax structure to make it more business friendly.

American companies that outsource their production to use cheap labor pose a problem. “We have to say ‘come home’ and start making it here, and everybody can win and start making money. …America first,” Bertram said. “It’s that simple. You don’t need all the big words, you don’t need all the fancy maneuverings. Just put America first.”

Education

“Engage kids in something they have an interest in.”

Teachers would like a raise, but the pot is limited. “Everybody would like to have higher pay, but can we stay the course? When times are tough that probably isn’t going to happen,” Bertram said.

The Road Fund

Tap into the Rainy Day Fund. Cut waste and fat throughout state budget. “I wouldn’t raise taxes because people are already stretched.”

He said he is OK with the idea some have posed to establish an infrastructure trust fund using increased Marcellus gas severance revenues.

The Future of Coal

“Until we come up with a better energy source, I see coal still being a big part of [the energy portfolio].” West Virginians don’t like nuclear power, and it would be too challenging to convert coal plants to gas. “When people hit that switch they want their lights to come on.”

He’s frustrated that America can put people on the moon but has trouble promoting clean coal technology. “I think one of the reasons is that we haven’t invested enough time and energy into it. There’s just not the will to do it.”

Taxes

“I think we need to look at the whole ball of wax and see what we need and what we can cut. … Less taxes, less regulation, smaller government.” When a tax gets raised, it almost never gets lowered. “Bureaucrats love a tax.”

“Harry Bertram has a way of standing out…”

From The Charleston Daily Mail:

A Miami Dolphins football fan, Harry once snagged a ticket online to a Dolphins-Tennessee Titans game. But the ticket put him on the Titans side. His neighbor was puzzled.

“The guy kept asking me. “What are you doing here?’ I said, ‘Well, that’s where my ticket was.’ But he didn’t hassle me, he was pretty nice.”

For the most part, Bertram’s views are traditional conservative — smaller government, lower taxes.

He has run for office as a Republican and attended tea party rallies, where he was warmly received.

He is an ordinary guy who runs trains and likes the Dolphins.

Except there’s one difference he’s happy to point out.

“I’m not out of the ordinary, though I have a special knack in there for pointing out I think white people are being discriminated against. I think that should be addressed.”

The discrimination takes such forms as affirmative action. “Do away with that. It should be based on performance and ability, not somebody’s race.”

Harry Bertram for GovernorHe often uses the phrase “America first,” and his radio ad explains it this way: “Our jobs are being exported overseas, while multiculturalism and immigration are destroying America’s heritage. It’s time for a new direction. Vote Harry Bertram for governor because we must secure a future for White America and our children.”

Bertram is the first West Virginia candidate for the fledgling American Third Position party — the A3P.

“The A3P came into existence and they approached me, wanting me to be the West Virginia chairman. Being I had political experience and was pretty much aligned with these guys, I said OK.”

Bertram’s political experience includes unsuccessful runs for the House of Delegates in 2006 and 2008, and the Monongalia County Board of Education twice in 2010, when the original winner stepped down, setting up a special election.

The A3P ratified its constitution in November 2009. Its chairman is an international corporate lawyer with a law degree from Columbia University. Three of its five directors have doctorate degrees. It describes itself as “both a political party and activist organization dedicated to the interests vital to the preservation and continuity of ethnic European communities within the United States of America.”

A3P’s mission is “to fill a tremendous need in the United States today by providing the leadership and elected representatives necessary to return our nation to its rightful owners — by liberating it from the ‘banksters and gangsters’ who are ruthlessly plundering our American blood and treasure.”

Bertram explains: “A white nationalist is somebody who loves their race and is willing to do something preserve it. It means putting America first. Stay out of foreign entanglements. … It’s gotten to the point where it’s bankrupting our country.”

America’s debt and deficit spending is so severe, he said, entitlements such as welfare and Social Security are in peril. “If you cut just about everything in the budget, you still won’t be able to balance the budget.”

A3P’s 12-point platform mixes environmentalism, conservative economics, and America-first foreign and domestic policy with tough stances on crime and a drive to reignite the space program.

Bertram gathered 3,760 signatures — well above the required 1,765 — in all 55 counties, according to reports. He hired help and recruited friends to gather signatures.

He said he knows it takes a special kind of person to do the job — you can’t be shy. “I’ll ask anybody. I don’t care if it’s the biggest liberals in town.”

One of his friends demonstrated democracy in action, approaching people known to lean left. They told the friend, “I know who Harry Bertram is. There’s no way in hell I’m voting for Harry Bertram.” But they signed the paper to get him on the ballot.

Born in West Virginia, Bertram, 51, served four years in the Army and a chunk of his life across the border in Ohio. “I could look right across the river, there was West Virginia.” He re-crossed the river in 1990, a relationship — long since ended — and a job bringing him to Maidsville.

Bertram has been a railroad engineer and conductor for 13 years, and works for CSX. He lives in Maidsville with his wife of five years. “I try to keep my family out of the light in political stuff.”

Bertram was the only one of the five gubernatorial candidates to refuse a meeting with The Dominion Post Editorial Board. The reason, he said, was that he didn’t appreciate the manner of questioning his nationalist views, and how they differ from supremacist views.

Bertram defines a supremacist as someone devoted to dominating others. The A3P advocates the right of free association without compulsion.

The talk orbits around to the A3P again. Asked if America should stay out of all foreign affairs, he focuses on places such as Iraq and Afghanistan — what he considers no-win situations. In Afghanistan, the British came and went, the Russians came and went, and America will soon leave.

“We don’t want to go out and police the world. War’s a big business. There’s a new boogeyman every month. … Nationalists tend to want to stay focused on their country; internationalists want to go around the world and get in all these conflicts,” Bertram said. “There’s so many problems that need to be fixed in this country.”

The Republican Party Is Doomed

Kevin MacDonald | A consequence of the anti-White revolution wrought by immigration is the racialization of American politics. Richard Spencer’s talk at the recent National Policy Institute Conference (now the featured TOO video) is an excellent summary of the case that the the Republican Party is doomed unless it switches to a pro-majority strategy—a topic discussed several times here as well. The basic fact is that around 90% of the votes of the Republican Party are from Whites. Non-Whites—even well-off non-Whites (including Jews)—tend to vote strongly Democrat, while the Republican base is now made up of Whites of all social classes. But as Whites become a decreasing percentage of the population, the Republican Party will inevitably become a permanent minority party as its constituents become a minority of Americans.

The video below features Pat Buchanan and Ron Brownstein discussing this issue with Cenk Uygur, a Turkish-American who seems quite gleeful that the Republican Party is “heading over a cliff.” (It doesn’t take long for non-Whites to see what the game is in American politics.) Again the same depressing statistics on White displacement, along with the projection that Obama could win Georgia with only 25% of the White vote and the point that Obama’s ads are featuring young non-Whites—the soon-to-be majority. Whites are expected to vote even more overwhelmingly Republican in 2012, which could mean that they win some states they didn’t win before. But, as Buchanan says, the Republican Party is doomed in the long run. And,as he notes, it doesn’t make sense for the Republicans to try to recruit Latinos because Latinos want lots of big government programs (not to mention bringing more people like themselves to the U.S., legalizing the illegals, etc).

Brownstein blames Richard Nixon’s Southern Strategy of getting Southerners to break their long allegiance to the Democratic Party as the ultimate reason why the Republican Party is now heading over a cliff. But it’s hard to see why Southern Whites would want to vote for anything like what the Democratic Party has become. Even by the 1960s, the Democrats had begun loosening their ties to the White working class in favor of embracing racial diversity, the civil rights movement, massive non-White immigration and the culture of the left (e.g., the homosexual agenda, radical feminism). Buchanan says the Southern strategy had a “good run”—keeping Republicans competitive for more than 40 years.

Doomed RepublicansOf course, the problem is not that the Southern strategy was necessarily short-sighted. It just didn’t include any attempt to keep the country White. For this entire period, the Republicans have been complicit in the displacement of White America. Their mistake was to think they could still win elections when Whites become a minority—the myopia of a political class focused narrowly on the next election. The really sad thing is that if the country had remained 90% White, the White working class would have been far better represented in the Democratic Party than they have been in the Republican party dominated by globalist elites bent on open borders and free trade, with an occasional bone tossed to social conservatives.

The good news here is that it’s hard to believe that Whites won’t begin to identify as Whites and begin to act accordingly when they see that they can’t win elections any longer, even with very strong White majorities voting Republican.

But for people on the left like Brownstein, Whites have no choice but to fund their displacement so that non-Whites will make them comfortable as they head off into the sunset (“Bound Together: Why America Must Bridge the Gap between Brown and Gray“). The message is that White folks have to come up with the cash for the “huge, heavily nonwhite generation of youths that needs public investments in education and health care to ascend to the middle class.” All it will take is money, but the problem is the “sharp move to the right among older whites resistant to activist government and uneasy about the rapid demographic change transforming the United States.

Exactly. These Whites never voted for this massive influx. Legal immigration has been taken off the table by mutual consent between Republicans and Democrats, and now the Obama Administration is giving stealth amnesty to the 16,000,000 illegals. So all they have left is their uneasiness.

Actually, it’s an unspoken rage—unspoken because they can’t talk about the real problems without being called “racists” and such. (James Edwards does a great job of illustrating the pervasiveness of this form of thought control in his talk at the NPI conference—the second talk on the currently featured TOO video.)

Now Whites are expected to throw huge amounts of money down the drain trying to overcome the “daunting achievement gaps between white and minority students”—the utopian quest to get Mexicans (average IQ around 90) and Blacks (IQ around 85) into the middle class. This after decades of trying to raise Black IQ with no success. (In the National Policy Institute video, James Edwards lists the dozens of programs that have already been aimed at improving Black achievement—all for naught.)

For liberals like Brownstein, the only conceivable problem is lack of money. (In a previous column, he explicitly exonerated Blacks for their weak family ties. Implicit message: Whites have to fix things for Blacks; Blacks have no responsibility to change their behavior.) Aging Whites are supposed to make this massive investment even though it is common knowledge that the programs benefiting seniors are in fiscal trouble. I suppose in Brownstein’s ideal world, Whites would cut back their benefits from Social Security and Medicare in order to fund educational programs for non-Whites. But, as all the research shows, people are less willing to contribute to public goods in ethnically non-homogeneous societies—especially when the beneficiaries are uninvited guests of different ethnicity. Brownstein is blissfully ignorant of all the social science research, whether on race differences in academic potential or on the disastrous consequences of multiculturalism.

Then there’s his elated recitation of the decline of Whites in the last ten years:

In 2000, whites comprised about 61 percent of America’s children and almost 84 percent of its seniors, for a 23-point gap. By 2010, the gap had widened to about 26 points, because whites still comprise 80 percent of seniors, but plummeted to less than 54 percent of children.

Followed by a threat:

“Unless America can equip its young people to obtain good-paying jobs, Social Security and Medicare will face increasing financial strain.”

Right, but it would be much less strain if American didn’t have this uninvited burden placed upon them. The anti-White revolution is now on auto-pilot, and aging Whites are expected to pay for it.

Here’s another threat. The American economy can’t possibly grow enough jobs to employ the immigrants now here, especially since most of the manufacturing base has been shipped overseas (see Buchanan’s comments in the video). The recent data on poverty show the highest levels in 50 years, with around 25% of Blacks (39% of Black children) and Latinos below the poverty line. Unemployment levels remain historically high and are doubtless the biggest threat to Obama’s reelection.

Yet the political class and the mainstream media are silent about how immigration exacerbates the problems of poverty and unemployment.

If Brownstein really wants a livable America, he would oppose immigration and favor programs for repatriating illegals. But being a liberal, his only solution is to have White folks tighten their belts and fund yet more programs for non-Whites. The metaphysical ideal of a non-White America trumps every other consideration.

Ethnopolitics: White Pride Denied

Elizabeth Wright – 8/11/2007 | Did you know that the terms “Black Power,” “Black Supremacy,” and “La Raza” (The Race – National Council of La Raza) are all trademarks that have long been approved by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office? Even the Black Panther Party’s slogan “Burn, Baby, Burn” (which still evokes the threat of rioting and mayhem approved for “Revolutionary Hot Sauce”), had no problem winning official trademark recognition. And then there’s “African Pride,” “Black Pride,” “Chippewa Pride,” “Cuban Pride,” “Indian Pride,” “Jewish Pride,” “Red Pride,” and lots more — all aimed at acknowledging a race or ethnicity. And all terms approved by the U.S. government.

Research by U.S. citizen and retired police officer, Justin J. Moritz found the following “pride” terms have all been registered as trademarks by the U.S Government:

“African Pride,” “African Man Pride,” “Asian Pride,” “Bahama Pride,” “Black Pride,” “Brazilian Pride,” “China-Pride,” “Chippewa Pride,” “Choctaw Pride,” “Colombian Pride,” “Cuban Pride,” “Dakota Pride,” “Dominican Pride,” “El Salvador Pride,” “Ecuador Pride,” “Gay Pride Apparel,” “Guyanese Pride,” “Havana Pride,” “Honduran Pride,” “Indian Pride,” “Jamaica’s Pride,” “Jewish Pride,” “Kwanzaa Pride,” “Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride,” “Mayan Pride,” “Mexican Pride,” “Native Pride!,” “Nicaraguan Pride,” “Orgullo Hispano” (Hispanic Pride), “Orgoglio” (Hispanic—’Great Pride’ (supremacy?)), “Qisqueya Pride” (Dominican Republic Pride), “Rainbow Pride Coach,” “Red Pride,” “San Diego Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride,” “Spanish Pride,” and “West Indian Pride.”

As Reported by American Renaissance and Free Republic, when Justin Moritz, a former law enforcement officer, applied to trademark the phrase “White Pride Country Wide,” he was rejected in no uncertain terms. Registration of the words was not only denied, but the phrase was ruled “offensive” and “immoral.” More succinctly, the trademark office claimed, “… the proposed mark consists of or comprises immoral or scandalous matter.”

Elizabeth WrightIncredulous, Moritz’s next step was to appeal the decision and give trademark officials a chance to reconsider his request. He first did some homework and accumulated a list of all the trademarks given to terms that acknowledge pride of race or national origin. He came up with over three dozen relevant terms or slogans, many referencing people of color, which objectively could be deemed close relatives to “White Pride Country Wide.” All to no avail. Rejection of his registration was upheld, and to add to his vexation, his $1,300 trademark application fee was deemed non-refundable.

Moritz next turned to the ACLU, which, unsurprisingly, refused to petition the trademark office in his behalf. He then contacted the Center for Individual Rights, a public interest law firm. CIR did not take the case, but did place it on the website of the Federalist Society, where lawyers sometimes choose cases to handle pro bono. As of August, Moritz had not been contacted by a willing attorney.

Let’s face it, it would be surprising if Moritz found support, especially among whites. After decades of inundation about the evils of “white racism” coming from all directions, and most especially from the media and education establishments, the average white is programmed to avoid anything that smacks of conscious endorsement of his own race. In the current social climate, to display favorable regard towards that which is white, not only is forbidden, but is viewed as an automatic disparagement of non-whites.

A “White Pride” T-shirt is deemed a threatening symbol, whereas a “Black Supremacy” slogan on a button or garment is viewed as an understandable, albeit angry response to undeserved past abuses. Any public effort to promote a white theme is doomed to failure, even if the proper bows to racial diversity are adhered to. Whites learn early to censor themselves, in order to comply with the rules of the race game.

The white who does not learn how to keep his head beneath the radar could wind up smeared with the “racist” label — a potentially ruinous accusation. He who slips and fails to follow the politically correct race protocol could find himself in a turbulent situation. Given the existence of “hate crime” laws — ambiguous statutes conceived primarily to entrap whites — it is best to keep any socially unorthodox thoughts to oneself. As several cases demonstrate, punishment for Thought Crime has arrived in America.

Knowing that whites are on the defensive in this peculiar, one-sided shadow play, self-appointed “watchdog” groups, i.e., the professional “anti-racists,” are quick to target a slogan like “White Pride Country Wide” as an arrogant manifestation of white supremacy. Honest intentions do not matter, since this is a “Gotcha!” game. Once the taboo “supremacist” has been applied, other whites will run for cover, eager to dissociate themselves from anyone who might bring on “race” troubles.

In a society now immersed in identity politics, where the education system and a reinforcing media work overtime in pummeling young minds with racially correct propaganda, there is little prospect that fairness will prevail in the near future.

Arizona A3P Chairman Running for City Council in Mesa

Ralph Brandt, American Third Position leader of Arizona, is seeking a City Council post in Mesa.

Brandt is the Arizona leader of the American Third Position, a political party that is making a push to run candidates in all 50 states.

He said modern-day McCarthyism is at play against people who promote European heritage, and he’s gotten unfriendly responses at times when handing out brochures.

“One reaction I get quite often is if I’m a member of the KKK or a Nazi or something like that – all the usual stereotypes,” he said. “Blacks have the NAACP, Mexicans have La Raza but there’s no political group representing the political interests of white people. There’s a tremendous gap which we have the potential for filling.”

Ralph Brandt“The party essentially promotes the ethnic interests of white people,” Brandt said. “We believe that neither political party is serious about controlling our border so that’s a major part of our platform.”

The party’s website says it represents the political interests of whites and that the nation needs to be restored to its “rightful owners.” It also is trying to organize in every state and boost its profile by having members seek elected offices. Brandt joined the party a month after it was founded and its website highlights him as the kind of leader the party wants in every state.

Brandt’s potential candidacy brings concern to a community where racial tension has increased with the illegal immigration debate. Mesa Republican Russell Pearce, the state Senate president, is the target of a contentious recall in part for his creation of SB 1070, the law that makes it a crime to be in Arizona illegally.

The write-up includes the obligatory vilification by Heidi Beirich of the leftist SPLC group, “The party [A3P] formed in 2009 and has quickly grown in strength and its activity,” said Heidi Beirich, the Southern Poverty Law Center’s director of research. The nonprofit civil rights organization said the white nationalist party was founded by skinheads but now is headed by professors and a corporate lawyer. “The leadership is more highbrow today but the basic principle of the party is to make this a white country. As a result, we list them as a hate group,” Beirich said. “They’ve got some really high powered white nationalists on there.”

Brandt scoffed at the hate group label. He said the poverty center applies the term too broadly.

“The party essentially promotes the ethnic interests of white people,” Brandt said.

The SPLC is not without their own controversy. The “nonprofit civil rights organization” was sued for defamation in 2008 by Professor Geunter Lewy in a libel case (Source):

The SPLC issued a “retraction and apology” in 2010 to Professor Geunter Lewy in a libel case against the SPLC regarding The Armenian Massacre. Plaintiff Guenter Lewy (“Plaintiff”) brought the complaint for defamation against the Southern Poverty Law Center, Inc., and David Holthouse in 2008.

Professor Lewy adds the following comment:

“The SPLC has made important contributions to the rule of law and the struggle against bigotry. Thus I took no pleasure in commencing legal action against it. But the stakes, both for my reputation as a scholar and for the free and unhindered discussion of controversial topics, were compelling. It must be possible to defend views that contradict conventional wisdom without being called the agent of a foreign government.”

Scamnesty: Illegal Workers Collect $4.2 Billion from IRS in Tax Credits

Talk about a tax loophole.

Undocumented workers collected $4.2 billion in a certain tax credit last year, up from less than $1 billion five years ago, according to a new audit.

IRSThe report from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration looked only at a tax benefit known as the Additional Child Tax Credit, a refundable credit meant for working families. The audit found that as a result of vague U.S. law — as well as an expansion of the tax credit in stimulus legislation and other measures — the number of illegal workers collecting the money has skyrocketed.

The inspector general’s office expressed concern about the trend and urged the IRS and Treasury Department to determine once and for all whether that money should be paid out.

“The payment of federal funds through this tax benefit appears to provide an additional incentive for aliens to enter, reside and work in the United States without authorization, which contradicts federal law and policy to remove such incentives,” the report said.

The report highlighted a quirk in U.S. law. Even people who are not authorized to work are supposed to pay the IRS taxes on their income. Many of those people cannot obtain a Social Security number, so to facilitate this the IRS hands out what are known as Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers — so illegal workers can file returns. However, in doing so many of those workers are claiming tax benefits like the Additional Child Tax Credit. For some, it’s a way of making even more money.

“Refundable credits can result in refunds even if no income tax is withheld or paid,” the report noted.

The Additional Child Tax Credit is an offshoot of another tax credit worth up to $1,000 per child. Restrictions for the tax credits were loosened in 2001, and eligibility was temporarily increased by the 2009 stimulus bill.

“As such, more taxpayers could claim the ACTC or claim a greater amount,” the report said. The inspector general’s office said 2.3 million undocumented filers claimed the credit in 2010, adding up to $4.2 billion worth of refunds.

Not all immigrants who are unauthorized to work are necessarily illegal immigrants. However, any legal immigrant who works without authorization would be in violation of his or her immigration status.

The report said that if the administration determines the credits should not be paid in the future, then the IRS needs the authority to stop them.

According to the audit, the IRS agreed with that recommendation. (Source)
